Several years ago I promised to fight for you in the Louisiana State Legislature...to provide our children with the best education possible, to lower taxes for working families, to create new jobs, and to improve our roads and highways. I have done just that, serving first in the House of Representatives, and now as your State Senator.

During my time in the Louisiana Legislature I have authored hundreds of pieces of legislation: I was the lead author of the Annual Sales Tax Holiday, Louisiana's Smoke Free Air Act and the allowance for a tax deduction for those parents who choose to send their children to private schools. I was a co-author to Louisiana's largest tax cut afforded to individuals in the history of our state - the repeal of the Stelly Tax.
